Hi

Did my SAQ and MCQ last week and I have soooooo failed at both. You know when you sit around with classmates post-exam and chat about the questions? Well there were so many more I had got wrong than right!! I said to myself that I think I could cope with one resit, but I don't think I can do more than that!!

Oh, well, thought I'd share that with you....

Was it the MCQ? I think ours are October too! I think I will cope if I can just concentrate on one subject, but not had results for 5 things yet, so could be potential nightmare!!!

Hi, its hell isnt it. You may be surprised and pass - hope so. If not, keep at it and you will pass. I found there was, too much to do and not knowing which bit to tackle first. I would suggest get support from those who can help and concentrate on your weak areas. Dont ponder on it (I also felt as if I had a D on my head) as I did, and use the time to get down to putting right what you didnt know.

I dont know if the format between courses varies, we had a maths paper, a pharmacology (MC and SAQ) then history taking (basically a role play)record keeping and finally a viva.
I messed up the pharmacology by missing a blooming page out and with an 80% pass mark made it impossible to pass. Resigned to failure but not too concerned as was fairly well prepared I think. The rest of the day I have no idea how that went as my head was still stressing over the missed page, so who knows! certainly dont want to repeat any of the scary face to face stuff!!

Yes dose vary greatly. We did OSCEs in practice x 3. 1 trial and 2 that we had to pass. There were 2 essays, 2000 words and 3500 words. A portfolio with evidence of learning hours in practice. An MCQ which you had to get 80% and maths 100%. I failed the maths first time by trying to half a capsule!!!!! Lots of work. I worked so hard on the MCQ - stopped doing my essay to do that otherwise would have failed. Then, took 2 weeks off work to write my byetta essay. If you havnt passed this time you will be so thrilled when you do next time. Keep calm, I got myself in a right state first maths test. Doesnt help because you make simple mistakes then. Like I did. Wish you good luck.

Jay jay,
It may not be as bad as you think. I did exactly what you did and felt awful for weeks after I discussed it with the others on my course. But when the result came I had scraped a pass. I now dont talk about it to anyone when I `m doing exams because it makes me very stressed.Good luck and keep us informed.Willow

OMG, soooooooooooooooo passed!!! I cannot believe it, I have passed. I never dreamt I could or would, so am over the moon! I have to keep getting my husband to re-read the letter just to make sure I haven't read it wrong! Just starting to return back to to paranoia now though, as these are the provisional results and have to be verified by the examination board - what if they change them????? Calm, calm..... xxxx

Well done. See, not good to sit around and discuss after exams! You were right and they were wrong. My tutor said it is rare for results to be changed at boards. So celebrate!!!!!!!!! I got a fright the other day - told passed resit of maths and then a few weeks later very late at night checked results on the uni site (said I failed). Did not get any sleep. Turns out if new results are not input they transfer the previous ones over. Relief.
